Flying Dragon's Nest - Self Catering Apartment Glastonbury
Introduction:
This Access Statement describes our current facilities and
services offered to our guests. This will enable potential guests to make an
informed decision with regard to the facilities and our flat. It also helps
them decide about their particular needs.
THE FLYING DRAGON' S NEST self catering accommodation is a ground
floor garden flat which is part of a split level three storey brick detached
house situated on St. Edmund's Hill in Glastonbury. The house and flat have
superb westerly views towards Exmoor, the Quantock Hills, the Mendip Hills and
the Levels. There are 39 steps down to the flat entrance from the parking bay
on Hexton Road and 30 steps up from parking on Leg of Mutton Road to the flat
entrance. The main entrance to the flat is through the conservatory which is
also the dining area A sliding door from the conservatory leads into the main
living room with sofa bed, kitchen, large bathroom with washing machine, and
king sized double bedroom.
We aim to meet the needs of all our guests, however, due to the
nature of the property this can make access for guests with limited mobility
difficult and the house is unsuitable for wheelchair users.

- Glastonbury town centre is seven minutes walk down the
hill
- The nearest shop is McColls on St. Edmund's Hill 800 metres
away
- The nearest bus stop into Glastonbury and Street and out to
Wells is 10 metres away
- The nearest train station is a thirty minute drive away at
Castle Cary
- A local taxi is CJW taxi service 01458-833106
- The owners of the Flying Dragon 's Nest can be contacted by
telephone, e-mail or post
- The house has gas central heating and a hot water tank both
controlled in the main house, but the radiators can be controlled in the
flat
- The duvets are duck feather and down and the pillows hollow
fibre with quality bed linen and towels. The bed has mattress and pillow
protectors
- The house is strictly non-smoking
- There is a smoke detector and fire procedure in place
- There is WiFi Internet Access
Arrival and Car Parking Facilities:
- Please inform us of your arrival time which must be after
2pm
- Please contact us as to arrangements for picking up the key and
directions to the flat
- Parking is either on Hexton Road in the provided lay-by or on
Leg of Mutton Road opposite our gate, where there is plenty of parking
- On arrival there will be a welcome basket including tea bags,
coffee, milk and also fresh flowers. There is a Sainsbury's and a Tesco in
Street, and a Morrisons and Co-op in Glastonbury
- We have an information folder and leaflets on local
attractions
Conservatory:
- There is one step up to the entrance door to the conservatory
with an outside light just above the door
- There is one round dining table for four people, the table can
be pulled out to fit 10 if necessary. There are five wooden chairs and one
armchair and an occasional table. There is a flowerbed with geraniums in one
corner
- A sliding door leading to the living room and another door
leading out, with one small step, onto the deck and terraces outside
- Main light and a free standing heater
Sitting Room:
- A double sofa bed, two armchairs, standard lamp and occasional
lamp and coffee table
- There is a 26 inch flat screen television with integrated DVD
player
- Two cupboards provide good storage and hanging space
- The floor is wooden parquet with a shag rug and there are full
length curtains covering the sliding door windows
Kitchen:
- There is a gas hob, worktop and sink which are 90cms high and
an electric stove and grill, with an electric hood wall mounted above the
stove
- Fridge/freezer and half size dishwasher, sink and draining
board with cupboards underneath for storage of crockery, pans and bowls
- Pine dresser with drawers and cupboards for food storage and
glasses and mugs
- Fire blanket and powder fire extinguisher
- Toaster, kettle, microwave and hand blender
- Tiled floor and blinds over window and door out to patio, and
one step down
- One step up into living room
Bathroom:
- Large rectangular shower cubicle and shower, basin and
toilet
- There is a glass shelf above the basin with mirror, light and
shaver socket
- Radiator and towel rail and full size mirror
- Washing machine, ironing board, iron, drying rack, cupboard and
vacuum cleaner
- The floor is linoleum and there is a blind over the window
Bedroom:
- One king sized bed, two bedside tables, two bedside lights,
chest of drawers, mirror, armchair, bedside rugs, original artwork on the
wall
- The floor is wooden parquet, and there are mid length curtains
over the window and floor length curtains over the door out to the
conservatory, with one step down
- There is a net curtain over the door between the bedroom and
living room
Outside:
- Through the conservatory door there is a wooden deck, patio,
lawn area and terrace with fencing and gate
- Below the property there is a shared garden with the owners
with seven steps down to the lawn area
- Outside lights, table, four chairs and parasol.
Departure:
- Please leave the keys in the conservatory on the dining
table
- Departure is at 10.30am
- Please leave the property clean and tidy and all recycling in
containers provided
